Pole vaulter Eliza McCartney feels she has the nerves and emotions under control as she heads off for her first Olympics.
McCartney's been thrust into the spotlight this year after setting numerous New Zealand records and finishing fifth at the world indoor champs, her first major senior level international event.
At just 19, McCartney says her inexperience probably plays into her favour.
She says because she's new to the whole thing she doesn't feel as much pressure.
McCartney leaves tomorrow for Germany, competing in four overseas competitions before heading to Rio.
