Athletics: Kiwis performing well in Europe

Auckland runner Adrian Blincoe finished third in the 1500 metres at the Folksam grand prix athletics meeting in Gothenburg, Sweden, on Thursday (NZ time).

Blincoe clocked three minutes, 39.90 seconds behind winner Lachlan Chisholm of Australia who finished in 3min 39.20sec.

Blincoe's next race over the same distance is at the London grand prix at Crystal Palace on Friday.

Jason Stewart, of Napier, was fourth in the 800m at Gothenburg in a time of 1min 47.95sec. The race was won by American Ryan Brown in 1min 47.58sec.

At the Amsterdam open meeting in the Netherlands, Auckland sprinter James Dolphin was fifth over 100m in 10.84sec and third in the 200m in 20.90sec.
