Athletics: Kiwi fourth in road race

Kimberley Smith followed up her 12th placing in the world cross-country championship with a creditable fourth in 15m 30s, in the Carlsbad 5km road race in California.

The race was won by double world cross-country championship gold medallist Tirunesh Dibaba, of Ethiopia.

World mountain running champion Jonathan Wyatt, of Wellington, finished 12th in the Zurich Marathon, in 2h 16m 50s.
