New Zealand's Andrea Miller broke her own national 100m hurdles record in Geneva yesterday, edging closer to the world athletics championships in Berlin in August.
Miller clipped two-hundredths of a second off her New Zealand record when she clocked a winning 13.10 seconds, ducking under 13.12s she set in Belgium last July.
Second place went to Lisa Urech (Switzerland), who recorded 13.23s.
Miller, 27, also bettered the B standard of 13.11s for the world championships. The A standard is 12.96s.
An initial nine-strong New Zealand squad has been named for the world championships in Berlin, Germany, from August 15-23.
Heading the team are reigning world and Olympic women's shot put champion Valerie Vili and Olympic men's 1500m bronze medallist Nick Willis.
Other New Zealand athletes hopeful of qualifying for the championships have until July 27 to record the necessary times and distances.
