Athletics: Gatlin posts fastest 100m time of the year

Controversial sprinter Justin Gatlin has clocked the fastest time in the world this year at the US Olympic trials in Oregon.

Gatlin has run 9.83 seconds in legal wind in the semi-finals.

The previous quickest this year was 9.86 run by Frenchman Jimmy Vicaut last month.

Gatlin has set four of the 10 quickest times in the world this year.
