New Zealand will have eight athletes at the world junior championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland from July 8-13.
Six women and two men have been selected, led by Nelson's Dominic Channon of Nelson, who competed strongly at recent world cross-country championships in Edinburgh. Channon will contest the 5000m.
The team is: Men: David Ambler (Christchurch) 100m, Dominic Channon (Nelson) 5000m. Women: Hannah Barker (Whakatane) 1500m, Chelsea Johannsen (Auckland) 200m, Te Rina Keenan (Auckland) discus throw, Esther Keown (Auckland) 1500m, Sarah McSweeney (Morrinsville) 3000m steeplechase, Angela Smit (Christchurch) 800m.
