Reigning Commonwealth Games and New Zealand shot put champion Valerie Vili has been awarded the Lonsdale Cup.
The cup, awarded annually by the New Zealand Olympic Committee, goes to the athlete who has made the most outstanding contribution to an Olympic or Commonwealth Games sport for the year.
Vili, 22, is ranked No 2 in the world.
