New Zealand Olympic shot put champion Valerie Adams has maintained her winning form at a Diamond League meeting in Sweden.
Adams registered a winning throw of 20.57m today to narrowly edge out her main rival, Belarussian Nadezhda Ostapchuk, in Stockholm.
Ostapchuk had a best effort of 20.37m as the New Zealander continued to dominate after the Belarussian regularly had the better of Adams on the European circuit last season.
It left Adams leading the Diamond League standings on 12 points after three league appearance while Ostapchuk, who is second on 10, has competed at four events on the circuit this season.
American Jillian Camarena- Williams, finished third today with a throw of 19.87m and she is also third in the overall standings on six points.
