Valerie Adams has cruised to her 40th consecutive victory with a win in the shot put at the DN Galan Diamond League meeting in Stockholm this morning.
Adams' best throw of 20.30 metres was 1.04 metres clear of second placed Christina Schwanitz from Germany, with American Michelle Carter another 0.70 metres further back in third.
The win extends the world and Olympic champion's lead in the Diamond League standings. Adam now sits on 16 points, with Schwanitz on 12 and Carter on six.
Meanwhile Zane Robertson, who made the final of the 5000m at the recent world championships, has finished fifth in the 1,500m B race in Stockholm, running a season best 3 minutes 38. 61 seconds.
