Russia's Yelena Soboleva broke the women's world indoor 1500m record in Moscow yesterday.
Soboleva, 23, ran 3m 58.28s at the Russian national championships to beat the mark of 3m 59.98s set by American Regina Jacobs in 2003.
It was the second world record set by Russian women in two days.
Earlier, Liliya Shobukhova beat the 3000m record with a time of 8m 27.86s. Ethiopia's Berhare Adere's record of 8m 29.15s stood from 2002.
