Former New Zealand athletic champion and representative Helen Moros has died of a heat attack.
Moros, 35, finished seventh in the women's marathon at the 1990 Auckland Commonwealth Games and won the national 10,000m championship in 1993, recording 32m 32.24s.
She competed for the Owairaka club in Auckland and won the Auckland cross-country title three years in a row, from 1988.
In 1989 she won the Auckland marathon title.
Moros ran with success in the United States, finishing third in the Chicago and Los Angeles marathons.
Her funeral will be in Auckland on Monday.
