Light winds on Auckland's Hauraki Gulf forced the postponement of today's Louis Vuitton Cup yacht races.
An average wind speed of at least seven knots is needed for the races to go ahead, but the best measured today was around 6.5 knots, and by 3.30pm wind speed had dropped to between 3-4 knots.
Today's match-ups are now scheudled for tomorrow. OneWorld of Seattle are due to take on Sweden's Victory Challenge, Britain's GBR Challenge face Italy's Prada, the Swiss Alinghi team race Dennis Conner's Stars and Stripes, and the French Le Defi would take on Larry Ellison's Oracle team.
