American football: More heroics from Favre

Veteran NFL quarterback Brett Favre is just one game away from returning to the Super Bowl.

The 40-year-old has led the Minnesota Vikings to a 34-3 win over the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC divisional game, with four touchdown passes.

Favre says it is an emotional win.

"Just to be in this position, after all the stuff that took place... it's a wonderful moment."

The Minnesota Vikings will face the New Orleans Saints in Louisiana next week, to decide who represents the NFC in next month's Super Bowl.

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips has nothing but praise for Favre, saying he is "the story of the game" and is truly amazing.
