Oprah was dwarfed by Valerie Adams when the pair met before her show in Auckland this week.

The two-time Olympic shot put gold medalist shared the photo on Facebook with the caption: "Picture with my girl @oprah."

Despite towering over Oprah, Adams who stands at 193cm, is not the tallest in her family.

Her brother, Oklahoma City Thunder NBA basketballer Steven Adams, stands at 213cm.

Today, he made headlines for his ferocious dunk on two-time NBA champion LeBron James.

Valerie Adams is not the only Kiwi sporting star to make someone look short this year.
