KEY POINTS:
New Zealand A1GP driver Jonny Reid was eighth fastest in this afternoon's official practice at Taupo.
Reid was in danger of dropping out of the top ten when he left the pits with just 15 minutes of practice remaining.
Despite 11th placed Australian John Martin's best efforts, he was unable to top Reid's 1:16:381 lap before the Kiwi jumped to seventh place with a 1:16:169.
American Jonathan Summerton then went slightly faster to push Reid into eighth place.
After another quick visit to the pits, Reid came back out with only a few minutes remaining.
With all bar six of the 22 drivers on track, the New Zealander bettered his earlier time with a 1:16.074, unfortunately not fast enough to push him any further up the order.
French driver Loic Duval dominated the session, with a very rapid 1:15:545, followed by Ireland's Adam Carroll, posting a 1:15.799.
Swiss driver Neel Jani rounding out the practice podium with 1:15.919.
The final practice session will run tomorrow morning from 11am, with qualifying sessions for Sunday's sprint and feature races following early in the afternoon.
