Let's go Build - A Festival for LEGO® Lovers
This festival is for the kids or the young at heart. LEGO professional Ryan McNaught aka Brickman has created a display that includes the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal and the Empire State Building at Brickman Wonders of the World. There will be plenty of chances for you to pick up some bricks and build something yourself, the festival programme includes events for LEGO lovers of all ages.

Brand new this summer! Take a tour through the hidden treasures of Te Papa. This must-do tour give you a chance to get up close and personal with the collections and hear the stories, led by engaging Te Papa staff.
Ko Rongowhakaata: The Story of Light and Shadow
This exhibition showcases the rich heritage and art of the Rongowhaka, an iwi from the East Coast of the North Island. Rongowhaka are renowned for their artistry, particularly their skill in carving, there are examples on display from the past and the present. The Rongowhakaata iwi includes celebrated leader Raharuhi Rukupō, this is an opportunity to find out more about their legacy.
Gallipoli: The Scale of our War
Weta Workshop joined forces with Te Papa to create an experience like no other, with models created on a monumental scale 2.4 times human size. The exhibition has shattered attendance records, with over 1 million visitors so far.
Rā Maumahara - New Zealand Wars
Explore this snapshot of the most explosive and sustained period of conflict in the New Zealand Wars: 1860-72. Māori and colonial forces clashed in a series of brutal battles that displaced and impoverished Māori for generations.
What's going on behind the Red Gates?
The Red Gates bar at Te Papa is the perfect spot to enjoy an early evening drink or snack and soak up some culture. This summer there is a range of events at the waterfront venue including live music performances from Fraser Mack and blues band Mehana. If you have a competitive streak you could get a group of friends together for the quiz night! Or on Thursdays, grab one of the many board games and challenge your friends to a games night. Christmas Lights Extravaganza at Bush City
Get into the festive spirit during December at Te Papa. After you've enjoyed the themed food and drinks, Christmas Carols and performances at Red Gates, go for a magical bush walk, spy a sleeping Santa and join in an interactive elves workshop surrounded by enchanted lights and kiwiana Christmas trees.
