Handmade European clay brickwork will help evoke some of the ambiance of old English homes organised around a village green as part of the final stage of development of the Cambridge Park subdivision.
The company currently marketing these 12 freehold house-and-land packages is Master Builders Vida Homes.
Director Chris Hodgkinson, who's a qualified builder and whose wife Sharon Connolly is also a director of their company, says: "These homes will look magnificent.
"The idea has been to create a little neighbourhood of heritage-style homes to be arranged around the Cambridge Park Oval."
He says that although interiors will offer upmarket modern amenities, the exteriors have been designed to incorporate classical charm.
"All of them have 45-degree pitched roofs and use these European clay bricks. "The bricks are handmade and every brick is a different size so there is quite a knack to laying them. "It's worth it because they create a really special look, a bit like the brickwork from an 1830s house."
The timber-framed homes' exteriors will also incorporate some cedar and plaster accents, topped by Colorsteel roofing.
Chris says Vida Homes have established a good relationship with the directors who developed former farmland into the Cambridge Park community, which is about five minutes' drive from central Cambridge.
"They like our commitment to quality and the concepts we've presented them with," he says. "We don't position ourselves to compete with budget product.
"We're incorporating features such as floating stairs where possible in these homes." "We wanted to be involved with Cambridge Park because we think this is a beautiful, really well-planned subdivision. For example, the layout of its roads has been well planned and its sections are good-sized."
He says Vida Homes' quality delivery is evidenced by their show home within Cambridge Park. The heritage-style replica villa won Master Builders House of the Year awards and has had more than 5000 people through it.
Chris says: "The Residences will be built around the Cambridge Park Oval, a large recreation area shaped like a rugby ball, including a park and a cafe, which Vida Homes will be building next year."
The Residences range from two-bedroom to four-bedroom homes, some spread over two levels.
Many are stand-alone although some are duplexes sharing only a garage wall. All have internal-access double garages. One of the "wow factors" will be soaring two-storey windows located at the end of their hallways, letting in an abundance of light.
All have roomy open-plan kitchen-dining-living areas with easy indoor-outdoor flow to grounds featuring paved areas and raised vegetable beds. Kitchens include sliding-shelf pantries and granite bench tops, with many also boasting butler's pantries.
Living areas have a gas fireplace with a heat transfer system and homes are also fitted with a heat pump.
There will be a free-standing bath in the family bathroom, which, like the master en suite, will have under-floor heating.
Homes will all have separate laundries and an upstairs study nook when the layout allows. The subdivision is on gas and equipped with fibre.
Chris anticipates the lock-up-and-leave nature of these homes will be important to owners, some of whom may have beach houses or consider travel an important part of their lifestyle.
Buyers who purchase these home-and-land packages now could be in around May, says Chris.
Purchase price includes a 10-year Master Build guarantee.
