They're leaving for Las Vegas! Six Colliers Jardine property staff in Auckland have won a trip to the United States in early April, after each earning their company more than $US300,000 worth of business last year.
They join the worldwide network of Colliers' Top 500 club which recognises those who contribute between $US300,000 and $US500,000 worth of revenue in one year.
The trip puts the Auckland office back up again with the world's major real-estate deal-makers. Staff from the New Zealand office have not won the annual trip since John Goddard went to Bali in 1997.
So they're blowing their trumpets about it. They particularly wanted to emphasise that only 20 or so Colliers staff from Asia Pacific region have qualified for the trip this year. And only nine to 11 Australians have qualified.
"For the size of our operation here, we've done phenomenally well," says New Zealand Colliers Jardine managing director Mark Synott.
The six winners will attend a conference in Las Vegas and visit Colliers International offices on the west coast of America and Canada, including San Hose, San Francisco and Vancouver.
Last year was a bumper for Colliers Jardine in Auckland, with $200 million worth of commercial sales, Goddard said.
He and Peter Herdson won their tickets for their work specialising in commercial investment sales. They had hands-on involvement with deals worth around $100 million last year, they said. These included large inner-city Auckland retail deals as well as bulk-retail hubs such as the Lincoln centre in Henderson and the new bulk-retail centre at Albany.
Ash Hiri won his trip for excelling in his field of leasing bulk-retail centres around Auckland, particularly the Manukau centre which includes large retailers such as Hardwarehouse. He has close connections with large Australian retailers, Goddard said.
Greg Marler and Paul Dyson are specialists in leasing central-city offices. They completed around 50 deals last year.
Val Moraes won his trip for outstanding achievements, particularly the establishment of a 24-hour hotline to liaise between tenants and property managers.
As well as the 500 Club, Colliers Jardine in New Zealand has established its own 300 club which recognises revenue earners who generate $NZ300,000.
What's their reward? A trip of course. Bali looks like a good place to rest up in May after the United States trip, they reckon.
