A two-storey office building housing one of Auckland's earliest computer companies in the heart of Takapuna's central business area is up for sale or lease with vacant possession as its owner retires.
Hays Computers in Karaka House at 9 Huron St has been a feature of Takapuna's business environment for decades, but the property it partly occupies is now largely vacant. The property has a good leasing history and until recently housed Haley Media and Herrmann International prior to both relocating elsewhere in Auckland this year, says Christina Heaven of marketing agency Bayleys North Shore Commercial.
Heaven is marketing the property in conjunction with Nick Howe-Smith, Bayleys North Shore Commercial, with offers for purchase or lease closing on July 25.
The 1980s constructed building provides about 1300sq m of office space over both floors and up to 27 parking spaces in its basement, which could be made secure. Heaven says both 650sq m floors have bathroom and kitchen/lunchroom amenities and are currently partitioned into offices, boardroom and staff facilities. The existing fitout includes fibre optic cabling and a server room. There is also a power transformer on site with three phase power into the building and shower and changing facilities in the basement.
"In general the offices are in good but dated condition although they benefit from excellent natural light, carpets, air conditioning and suspended ceilings," Heaven says.
