Retirement village owner/operator Summerset has completed a new $115 million Manukau complex.
Norah Barlow, chief executive, said about 300 people would eventually live at Summerset by the Park on a 4.3ha site adjoining Barry Curtis Park, part of the new Flat Bush area development.
The four-storey village has 183 residences which are a mix of villas and apartments, with a 52-bed aged care facility, hair dressing salon, pool, cafe, library, gym and a bloke's shed.
Work on the village started in 2006 and about 260 people live there.
Barlow said the Manukau complex would be a flagship property for the listed business.
