Roof trusses are being lifted to the top of Dunedin's new Forsyth Barr Stadium.
Chris Hunter, chief executive of Auckland-headquartered Hawkins Construction, said the stadium construction had reached a watershed.
"Good progress has been made on this project with the first arch truss successfully erected. The scale of project isn't easily appreciated from these photos but if you work out the size of the men in some of the pictures, you can get a bit of an understanding of the size of this structure," he said.
The stadium will be New Zealand's first fully covered sports venue of this size.
The $198 million structure is due to be finished in time for the Rugby World Cup.
