Armstrong Smarter Security Canterbury, which has operated successfully in the wider Christchurch region since 2001, is now for sale as a going concern business within leased premises.
"The present owner, who has run the business the entire time, is now ready to move on to the next venture," says ABC business broker, Alex Ingrosso.
Ingrosso says the location - 235 Annex Rd, Middleton - provides a busy setting for business activity.
"Armstrong Smarter Security operates predominantly in the residential and small business security space, with traditional locksmithing work done as well," he says.
"The work spans anything from selling a padlock through to full security systems for houses; and handling safes through to door locks, so there's tremendous variety.
"The business is a potential lifestyle change for the new owner, who ideally would be someone looking to take a managerial role in the business and not be too hands on."
As a franchise, Armstrong is well known and recognised throughout the country, Ingrosso points out.
"Being part of a franchise is a great move for someone getting into a business or industry for the first time. There is a lot of support given by master franchises, and Armstrong is no exception. They're there to help the owner succeed."
Ingrosso says the company has good potential and room for growth.
"There is still more to be done in the sectors they operate in and the new owner would have significant opportunity to tap into those new clients.
"The staff comprises eight experienced individuals of varying ages, all of whom have sound industry knowledge, with some having been with Armstrong's for many years. The business has three vans, used when out on the jobs and the fit out of these vehicles is top class.
"Inside the showroom, workshop, office and warehouse is all very well presented and tidy. The current owner has put a lot of effort into making this one of the tidiest franchises in the country," says Ingrosso.
"With a total cash surplus of $408,649 in 2016, this business offers an opportunity to earn a great return."
