Papatoetoe Intermediate School has had architecture firm Jasmax design its new administration block, as well as redesigning the former administration area which will be converted into six new classrooms and offices.
This part of the project is worth $1 million, with the total job worth $2.7 million.
Sixteen classrooms and two specialist areas will be refurbished and a music suite built.
The work will be finished by 2002. The job is being funded by the Ministry of Education, said principal Alan Jermaine.
