Ross and Jane Burton know what's important when it comes to apartment living - even though they have not lived at the apartment they are selling.
"Although I have not lived there, we have been apartment dwellers for approximately 13 years," says Jane. "We know what is important when it comes to apartment living and we would enjoy Eden Cres location and the apartment."
The couple bought this penthouse on the 14th level of the Eden Apartments in Eden Cres in December 2005.
"We bought it before apartments were popular," says Jane.
"I didn't like the uncertainty with leasehold knowing the lease could just go up," she says. They were the first owners (aside from the developer) and their penthouse had high ceilings.
"There is no one above you. You have the higher ceiling stud, wider corridors and fewer apartments on the floor.
Facing west, with the balcony accessed from the lounge and bedroom, they enjoy great views over the harbour and city, especially so at night when they look out to the city lights.
"It gets sun most of the day, late morning sun through to afternoon."
The layout has the bathroom/laundry on the left, on the right is the kitchen and the other half of this room is dining and lounge. On the left of the lounge is the bedroom.
It is decorated in neutral tones, the kitchen benchtop is Formica, appliances are Fisher and Paykel.
Jane and Ross have had no problem renting out the apartment.
"The building is well run. It attracts a good standard of tenant - of all ages, from 20 to 70 years," says Jane.
"The last two tenants were graduates working in the city. They liked the location. It's at the back of the law school so it's good for someone working in that area.
"You have the supermarket at the bottom of the hill, the train station in the CBD, that's a 10-minute walk, Vector arena, the High Court, Albert Park and the university."
