Plans were that Tim and Pansy van Dammen would open up this Parklane apartment to another they own next door, making one big apartment.
They bought corner apartment 2D through a private sale from neighbours in late 2014, continuing to live next door in the apartment they have owned since 2010.
But, says newlywed Pansy: "We have now decided we would rather be in a house, looking forward to the future to when we have children.
"But this apartment is so beautiful we wonder that we shouldn't be keeping this one and selling the other apartment first.
"The view is so gorgeous," she says of the outlook to trees and green grass of Myers Park from the living area and corner bedroom through metal-framed, multi-paned windows that stretch almost all the way up to the high ceiling.
Tim and Pansy's freehold apartments are on level two of Parklane, built in the 1920s and converted to apartments in the 90s.
"We are at foliage level of the trees below," says Pansy. "It's a good height."
"We like everything about Parklane. It is a lovely sense of community.
"And the spaces are gorgeous. You feel completely at peace when you are in your apartment."
Image 1 of 4: City apartment is like living in a park.
Coming into 2D, there's an entry hallway with a toilet on the right. This hallway opens to the living space with the kitchen next on the right. Appliances are Smeg and F&P, and the front bench is open to the living area, which stretches across to the large windows framing the park view.
To the right towards the corner are the two bedrooms, both spacious with those wonderful large windows, and sharing a bathroom with bath and overhead shower plus vanity and toilet.
Pansy likes the 3m stud.
"Even though you are in an apartment, it doesn't feel like you are. It feels like a giant 18th century mansion. It's not just any city apartment. It's special," she says.
"We face east so we get amazing morning sun, but we get light throughout the day. In the evening it almost radiates and glows."
The couple enjoy living in the inner city, eating at The Fed cafe and Coco's in K Rd, shopping at Lim Chhour. "We go to the movies at lot at the Academy and Imax, and sometimes we see plays at The Basement."
The apartment comes with a car park and storage area in the basement.
