The stock in trade of the owners of this Wakefield St studio apartment is beautifying women, but they're just as pleased with the makeover they arranged for the residence.
Daniel Song and his wife OK Jin Kim Song, who came to New Zealand from South Korea a decade ago, now live in Queenstown where they own a day spa beauty therapy business.
Daniel says: "We wanted to buy in Auckland because my son will be going to high school next year.
"There is only one high school in Queenstown and we thought my family could live in Auckland and he could go to Auckland Grammar, which this apartment building is zoned for."
However, with another business opportunity having arisen in Queenstown the family has decided to do an about-face and sell the apartment.
The Songs organised for a just-completed refurbishment of the studio apartment to maximise its appeal for re-sale.
The studio is in Wakefield St's Sun Apartments which were converted into residential dwellings in 2003, having previously been Sun Corporation's office space.
The building is popular with students and city-based professionals because of its central location. AUT's city campus is across the road while Auckland University's city campus is just around the corner.
Residents' access is by swipe key only and there are security cameras monitoring entry to the tiled lobby containing two lifts.
Apartment 307 looks out from its third floor in the direction of Airedale St.
The apartment is being sold fully furnished with one of the most notable pieces being a smart looking fold-out bed which can alternate between a single and double set-up.
The living space integrates the kitchen in which a glass splash-back backs the hob, above an under-bench fridge-freezer. Kitchen cabinetry surrounds the appliance tower trio of microwave, wall oven and dish-drawer.
All these appliances are included in chattels as is the combination washer-dryer in the crisp white bathroom with corner shower.
The 23 square metre apartment has been freshly re-painted with light fittings upgraded to LEDs.
Queen St shops, eateries and theatres are a short stroll down the hill and Auckland Central Library is just as handy.
The greenery of Albert Park is only a couple of blocks away.
It is also walking distance from here to the High St and Britomart precincts, the Viaduct and Karangahape Rd.
The building does not have car-parking, which isn't essential for residents given public transport and so many facilities are within walking distance.
However, there is a secure commercial car park on Wakefield St.
