The Classic Portable Pool uses an ingenious snap-together design, which eliminates the nuts, bolts and screws normally associated with traditional above-ground metal-sided pools. The pool can be placed directly on grass, concrete, tiles or asphalt so long as they are within 50mm of level.
The construction materials of aluminium and PVC do not corrode so salt water can be used.
The liner material is similar to the material used in the manufacture of bulletproof vests and comes with a 20-year warranty against ripping or tearing, says the importer, Paul Jones, of Above Ground Sales Ltd. "Its assembly is so simple that you could probably sit back and watch your children install it, as no tools are required."
When the swimming season is over it is just as easy, he says, to drain and disassemble the pool for storing over winter, saving on chemicals and maintenance.
The Korean-made pool comes as a complete package with Onga pump and filter, cleaning equipment, moulded plastic ladder, test kit and all pipe work and fittings, to enable the home handyman to complete the installation in under one hour. "This stylish durable pool is becoming very popular in the United States where it has 8 per cent of the above-ground pool market," Mr Jones says.
"Its portability suits people who rent or move and it has the highest resale value of any swimming pool."
On orders placed through the Home Show there will be a 10 per cent discount on normal prices.
