Lesley Colcord hasn't lived in her immaculate villa long but the life and business coach is all about seeing where life takes her.
"Life's an adventure and I love change," she says.
"This house bought me I think, totally," she says.
"I walked in and within half an hour I was negotiating. It's got great character, it's a great street, wonderful position, really quiet, a really welcoming home.
"And the neighbours, all of them, are amazing. Yeah, I think it chose me. It's very much my style. I like something with a bit of character and history.
"If I can see the potential in something, especially if it's got lovely light, I'm in."
Among the features she was drawn to are the natural timber floors and the high stud wooden batten ceiling.
Lesley's not sure if the double brick fireplace, which is so big it divides the lounge from the kitchen, dates back to when the house was built, but it, like the house, has a warmth factor.
"There's people who would say take it out because of the room you would gain but I like the character, I don't need the room.
"And I like the division of the rooms. I'm not someone who's a massive fan of huge open plan, I quite like little areas, nooks and crannies."
Out the back is a sunny courtyard and decking runs right round to the veranda at the road which has views across to the sea.
She likes to sit out there with a friend and a glass of wine and watch the world go by.
"In summer we gravitate there, sit and say, 'you know, it's really cool to sit here'."
The veranda is like another room, she says, and people walk their dogs up and down the street and chat -- it's that kind of neighbourhood.

"It's pretty from the front. It's one of those houses that everyone stops and talks to you."
There are great cafes at the top of the road and there are lovely bush walks around -- "and the dogs, it's hilarious, it's a non-stop dog area".
Lesley had the house painted and shutters put in, along with skylights and new carpet in the main bedrooms. She also renovated the bathroom into a statement bathroom with black and white tiles.
"It's very New York -- I'm very New York: black and white, traditional, that sort of style, a bit edgy."
She loves to travel and wants something more lock up and leave, and thinks she might buy something which needs a bit of love.
"Nothing too structural or major but I do quite like the styling. I'm a life coach and business coach, I coach executives, entrepreneurs and creatives, but funnily enough styling and interiors is another really strong interest and passion so I'm actually launching style coaching.
"My friends are really encouraging and always say,'Where did you get that from?' and I love sourcing little bits and pieces and putting them together."
Lesley now plans to expand her coaching to encourage others to find their own style and design flair.
She is open around settlement for the sale of her house, or she'll stay and rent it if that's what the new owners want: "I'm not in any hurry because I haven't spotted my next thing yet."
