An enclave of elegantly crafted homes in a picturesque, leafy setting en route to just about everywhere.
That's perhaps the easiest way to describe Greenlane, a popular, central suburb eagerly sought after by discerning buyers who, once they arrive, aren't in much of a hurry to move on.
Homes change hands here on an average of once every 10 years, such is its appeal for its variety of character homes, including bungalows set on generous grounds, and villas which date back to when the earliest inner-city suburbs were developed early last century.
Close to prestigious state and private schools, Greenlane attracts enduring interest from families buying in the $400,000-plus range, looking to settle long-term into a second or third home.
Sophisticated buyers, they seek out homes with character and refurbishment potential.
Money invested in quality renovations ensure that these homes will deliver quality lifestyle without losing any architectural integrity.
Professional business people working in nearby Penrose settle in Greenlane, which is close to the Great South Rd link. CBD commuters are equally well served by
the motorway access.
First home buyers aren't disappointed here either. The clean lines of 60s sausage block flats currently enjoying a fashion revival are to be hunted out and secured for figures in the mid-$200,000 - or less on the fringes of the suburb.
Dollars nudging the $900,000 market are changing hands to secure top-of-the-market properties in the heart of Greenlane.
