KEY POINTS:
The country's tallest apartment tower - the $137 million 30-level Sentinel at Takapuna - is about to open as builders race to finish the luxury penthouse and swimming pool at the top.
Residents on the lower floors are due to move in this month but builders are still working on the exclusive upper floors, which have been bought by people such as Mike Panjwani, a businessman who paid $11.25 million for his luxury penthouse.
Yesterday property editor Anne Gibson took a tour of the tower, which is expected to be the last big high-rise apartment block to be completed before the downturn takes hold of the construction sector.
