With an unsung coastal charm, Beach Haven still attracts considerable attention from buyers and investors in and around the area.
Eighteen months after the opening of the Kaipatiki Bridge link to nearby Glenfield, there are signs of buyer interest from Glenfield and the more expensive seaside North Shore suburbs.
In Beach Haven, the focus is on the seaside homes, which are tucked among trees near parks and the extensive coastline that overlooks the upper harbour, Greenhithe and Hobsonville.
The recent sale of a 3000 sq m water's edge property with a jetty and mooring for a record $850,000 has heightened interest in these rarely available properties.
Beach Haven also has a variety of homes in the lower price brackets, including many do-ups on full sites with subdivision potential. Prices for these start at around $150,000, which makes this area affordable for first-home buyers and investors.
For $130,000, a buyer can secure a two-bedroom unit that is within walking distance of the village shops and Larking's landing, which is the proposed site for a ferry service to the city.
