Bayleys' commercial and industrial sales and leasing team won three awards at this year's Real Estate Institute of New Zealand Awards for Excellence.
The company won the top spot as Best Commercial & Industrial Agency in the country, won the Best Multi-Media Marketing category, and saw sales and leasing agent Paul Hain finish runnerup for the Commercial & Industrial Salesperson Award.
Hain's success came on the back of a successful leasing and sale campaign for the GHD building adjacent to Auckland's Victoria park tunnel, built by Mansons TCLM. Lion signed up for a 10-year lease of a 5427sq m space in the five-level building in Napier St, Freemans Bay. Engineering, architectural and environmental consultancy company GHD took up naming rights for the building and now occupies more than 3000sq m of space on the top two floors, with a 12-year lease.
Hain then brokered the sale of the GHD building for $63 million to a New Zealand investor. In April, Hain was named Bayleys' No 1 commercial and industrial salesperson for the 2012/2013 financial year.
The GHD/Lion/Mansons lease and sale is believed to be the biggest such deal concluded in New Zealand over the past year.
