CBRE has promoted Dominic Ong to national director of its private client group. Ong, one of CBRE's top fee writers in New Zealand, will concentrate on increasing market share and improving operational efficiencies. Ong was named CBRE's New Zealand professional of the year for 2009.
Thames hotel sale
The Junction Hotel in the Thames CBD has been sold as a going concern to an owner/occupier for $402,000 by Mike Swanson of Bayleys Waikato. The 1060sq m building has a Category 2 Historic Places Act registration.
Tauranga office building
Ron Andrew of Bayleys Tauranga has sold a 454sq m 1960s office building at 100 Spring St in the Tauranga CBD for $860,000. The sale represented a 5 per cent yield.
Dead cert in Paeroa
A 1970s building at 3 Hall St, Paeroa, which was originally designed for medical and dental consulting rooms and adapted for use as a funeral home and live-in accommodation, has been sold for $315,000 at a 9.8 per cent yield by Kevin Wehipeihana of Bayleys Tauranga.
Henderson showroom
A 610sq m showroom building on a 5861sq m site at 14-16 Bruce McLaren Rd, Henderson, with about 4060sq m of vacant land for future development, has been sold with vacant possession for $640,000 by Chris Upright of Bayleys Auckland and Tony Bayley of Bayleys Howick.
