The land, buildings and business of the recently refurbished Alexandra Hotel in Pirongia, Waikato, are now for sale by negotiation.
Ray White Newmarket sales agent Tanya Kwasza says the hotel's freehold site of over 4000sq m provides room to grow, while its hunting-themed bar and restaurant facilities hum with local and out-of-town trade.
"In the last 20 months experienced operator Hugh Rhodes upgraded facilities and transformed the decor, introducing the Five Stags theme, which fits perfectly with Pirongia's hunting heritage." says Kwasza. "We're seeing hundreds of visitors-at-a-time during the likes of Pirongia's Blues Festival and a recent visit by Australian celebrity comedy duo Hamish and Andy.
"Having spent about 50 years in hospitality, and with many additional goals to tick off his list, Hugh's ready to pass on the baton."
Though dating from 1865, the present hotel was rebuilt following a fire many years ago which gave a blank canvas for the astute Rhodes to remodel, after purchasing it in 2016.
