Affordable and idyllic in new portfolio

Twenty-seven investment and development commercial properties from throughout New Zealand are featured in the latest Colliers Portfolio publication.

"They range from affordable storage units through to idyllic island development sites," says Peter Herdson, national director of capital markets at Colliers International.

"Established commercial property asset classes are well represented, including nine industrial, eight retail and three office properties," he says.

"Specialist assets are also under the spotlight, including a childcare investment property, a substantial estate of eight freehold forests, and a property syndication investment fund."

Among the most distinctive opportunities is the chance to buy seven secluded freehold titles on Auckland's Kawau Island.

"The 25.3ha landholding at Kawati Point, accessed from picturesque Vivian Bay via a private deep-water jetty, is for sale as a single investment property or as individual titles," says Herdson.

"Rural and Coastal Settlement zoning means five of the titles have potential for further subdivision."

Also among the offerings is a rare chance to acquire a freehold industrial property with a going concern eco-business.

Greenwaste to Zero provides garden waste management services for the wider Nelson area, recycling green waste and turning it into compost.

Herdson says the company's 4148sq m property at 18 Cargill Place, Richmond, is for sale along with its profitable business operations.

"This sale represents a good chance to relocate to sunny Nelson and draw income from a sustainable eco-business, where customers pay to dispose of green waste and then pay for the compost it makes."

The new Colliers Portfolio also includes opportunities for smaller investors and owner-occupiers.

Twenty affordably priced storage units are for sale at 8 Cherokee Place, in Mount Maunganui. The units, which range in size from 35sq m to 45sq m, are available to buy for $179,000 to $199,000.
