A huge part of the appeal of this Coatesville country home for Maria and Andrew Reeves was how it reminded them of the Sheffield countryside where they had lived in England.
Also its build style reminded Colombian-born Maria of relatives' homes in Spain.
"We found Coatesville very peaceful and extremely beautiful," says Maria.
The couple bought the two-storey home in 2013, but the Hebel house was built in 2003.
"This particular house we liked because of the views of the rolling hills," says Maria. "The house was the first built in the Lynton Masters Lane area and that owner chose the best land available so we got the flat land and we have the best views."
"It was architecturally designed so all the living spaces are north-facing. It was designed for the views and the sunset," says Andrew.
"Upstairs, the balconies have all the beautiful views of the rolling hills," says Maria. "This house basically has sun all the way through. And views wherever you go into the house."
Three bedrooms upstairs all have balconies, including the original master bedroom with en suite and walk-in wardrobe.
Downstairs are the main living areas. The kitchen/dining/family area is open plan and double doors open through to the lounge with Kent fire, allowing a flow between rooms or the option to separate by shutting the doors. The flooring of the dining areas is rimu and the lounge is carpeted. In the kitchen are F&P appliances, a central kitchen island bench and a large pantry.
Lounge and the family area have French doors opening to the patio and garden.
The only change the couple have made was painting the orange interior walls white.

"The blockwork walls and insulated, tiled roof make the home easily heated in winter with the heat pumps, and also make for a very quiet interior - no sound of rain on the roof," says Andrew.
The former owner also added a room on ground level, which became a new master bedroom. Maria and Andrew have kept the upstairs bedroom as their master suite; their daughter is in another bedroom and the third is used as a study (plus a second bathroom).
"We had planned to build a 25m swimming pool, and we were thinking about using that newer room as a pool house. But we didn't manage to get there," says Maria. "This is a huge bedroom with double doors that open to the garden. There is a deck area you can sit outside."
There would be plenty of room for a pool as they have 1.8195ha (4.5 acres) of land, split between gardens and native bush. The land is fully fenced.
There is a woodshed, a triple and a single garage with internal access to the house, and good storage. Laundry and airing cupboard are near this area.
At weekends, they have enjoyed being close to the east and west coast beaches. "We like doing that sort of thing and the wineries," says Andrew.
"You may wonder why we are moving. We feel that our connection with the city is stronger.
