The Caci Pakuranga beauty therapy and skin treatment clinic is being offered for sale as a going concern with its assets for $295,000 by Nick Stevens of Link Franchise in Ellerslie.
"Caci Pakuranga was started in September 2001 by the current owner Lisa Morrison, who has been a beauty therapist for more than 20 years and who has been involved with Caci since its conception in New Zealand in 1994," Stevens says.
"The sale of the business includes the Caci franchise with tangible assets of $140,000, intangible assets of $148,000 and stock estimated at around $7000.
"Apart from the branding and franchise, the real value in the intangible assets is the clinic's contacts and contracts for supply.
"The established clients are loyal customers who will continue to do business with the clinic, and an up-to-date database will be transferred to new owner."
The Pakuranga clinic provides a wide variety of skincare and beauty services, including the Caci non-surgical facelift, hair removal, waxing, Botox and pigmentation treatments, dermal fillers, collagen induction therapy, skin analysis and photo-rejuvenation, specialised facials, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, red vein electrolysis, brow tints, lash tints and perming and hot stone and regular massage.
"Caci offers by far the most comprehensive range of appearance medicine treatments available from a single source in New Zealand, occupying a niche between traditional beauty therapy and cosmetic medicine," Stevens says.
The broad range of services meant customers could be introduced to additional treatments, which resulted in a high rate of "multi service" clients.
The customer profile of the business is 70 per cent female, and mostly aged 30 and upwards.
The clinic with its state-of-the-art fit-out and equipment is strategically sited at 10 Aylesbury St in the Westfield Shopping Centre, where it holds a current lease to September 1, 2015 with the right of renewal.
"The owners of the Caci-Pakuranga are keen to discuss the transfer of their franchise to a party who has the enthusiasm and vision to continue to develop the business," Stevens says.
"The franchisor is very supportive and excellent exposure for the clinic and its treatments has been achieved through TV advertising to complement Pakuranga promotions and advertising in local newspapers and via the Yellow Pages.
Stevens says the strength of the Caci brand and the specialist equipment and expertise developed by the franchisor have created significant barriers for competitors.
"The sale of Caci-Pakuranga offers a very real opportunity for a hands-on operator to capitalise on the reputation of the clinic and to substantially increase its profile and profitability with the support of the franchisor," he says.
"Caci is the largest and best known national beauty and skincare brand comprising 24 franchised operations. The business has grown from one imported machine used for treating facial ageing in early 1994 to now being the leader in its field in skin treatment in New Zealand."
Stevens says the skin care industry in New Zealand is expanding rapidly as women and men become more conscious of health related issues and relatively inexpensive treatments.
"However there are no direct competitors in the New Zealand market offering the full range of services that Caci provides. There are many small beauty therapists offering facials, tonings etc but these are not considered real competition.
"A few medical practitioners are involved with specialised aspects of appearance medicine, but few provide such a comprehensive range of services and product that Caci does."
The story behind Caci - the Computer-Aided Cosmetology Instrument was developed by Californian doctor Thomas Wing for the treatment of soft-tissue injuries such as whiplash and sprains and for pain relief.
It uses micro current, applied to the skin through two cotton tipped wands to activate the electric synopses in the muscles.
Caci soon gained huge popularity as a medical clinic in Britain and America and was introduced to New Zealand in 1994.
A really good looking business opportunity
