The seven-man genre-defying band has returned from a series of overseas tour presenting its blend of reggae, dub, soul and R&B in a series of concerts to audiences from the United States, Europe and Australia. Along the way it has earned huge reviews and sellout crowds.

Fat Freddy's biggest audience this year was about 15,000 people at a concert in Paris - compared to a possible 1000 at the venues hosting the summer tour. Towers said when the band were talking about summer plans one member said: "There's no point in rocking Paris if you can't rock your own backyard."

So that's what the band is doing. Over summer they're swapping large crowds for beaches in "The Road To Opononi" tour and you have a chance to be there.
