HOW TO ENTER:

Purchase the Herald on Sunday on Sunday, October 4, Sunday October 11, Sunday October 18 and Sunday October 25 and follow the instructions on the competition ad. The competition ads will stipulate whether you can enter by email or via post or via both email and post.

If the competition ad stipulates that you need to enter via email simply follow the instructions on the ad and send your contact details along with the keyword(s) required to the email address provided on the ad. Email entries close at 5pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2009. If the competition ad stipulates that you can enter via post, simply clip and complete as many entry forms as required and then send the entry form(s) in one envelope to, 'Herald on Sunday Birthday Octoberfest promotion' Level 1, PO Box 3290 Shortland St, Auckland City, 1140. Postal entries close at 5pm on Friday, October 30, 2009.

The Winners will be drawn on or before Friday, November 27, 2009.

Entry is open to NZ residents only. Conditions for Sunday Detours Air NZ Vancouver Prize: This prize consists of two return economy airfares departing from Auckland to Vancouver flying Air New Zealand. This prize is valid for travel from 1 October 2009 to 30 May 2010. The winner is responsible for paying all additional costs associated with the prize that are not specifically included, including transport, meal costs, spending money, insurance and other incidentals. Airpoints Dollars™ cannot be accrued on prize travel. The prize cannot be converted into cash, is subject to availability and is non-transferable. Conditions for Sunday Detours Air NZ Prize 2: The prize consists of four return economy airfares departing from Auckland to any one of the following destinations: Adelaide, Coolangatta, Cairns, Perth or Sydney flying Air New Zealand and four nights' accommodation provided by Air New Zealand Holidays Ltd. Accommodation will be based on quad share. Sunday Detours prizes are valid from 1 November 2009 to 30 June 2010. Close out periods will apply over the school holidays and Christmas. The winner is responsible for paying all additional costs associated with the prize that are not specifically included, including transport, meal costs, spending money, insurance, any non-ticketed government /airport costs, and other incidentals. Current valid passport and any visa documentation required are the responsibility of the winner and the travelling participants. Airpoints Dollars™ cannot be accrued on prize travel. The prizes cannot be converted into cash and are non-transferable. All prize travel and accommodation will be
subject to Air New Zealand's general Terms and Conditions of Carriage and Air New Zealand Holidays' booking conditions, which are available at airnewzealand.co.nz.
Conditions for Mercedes-Benz for a weekend prize: To be eligible for this promotion you must be at least 25 years old and hold a full NZ drivers license. Redemption of the loan will be based upon availability on the specified date. The driver will be required to sign an indemnity form incorporating an acknowledgement of the insurance conditions, including a $1000 excess. Winner will need to collect the car from Mercedes-Benz in Mt Wellington if they are based in Auckland. If they are from elsewhere, they will need to collect the car from one of one of Mercedes-Benz other dealerships located in Hamilton, Mt Maunganui, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch and Dunedin.

3. The Winners will be notified by phone. If the prize is not claimed within 7 days from the draw date APN may re-draw a new winner(s). APN's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prize cannot be exchanged for cash, credit or service and no exchange communications will be entered into.

4. Neither APN or the relevant prize partners are liable for any loss, damage or injury (including without limitation indirect or consequential loss) suffered by any person in connection with the promotion or any prize, except for any liability under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
5. All entries are deemed received at the time of receipt by APN. APN's records are conclusive as to time of receipt. Late, lost, stolen, misdirected, illegal, incomplete, illegible, damaged, reproduced, or altered entries are invalid. APN is not responsible for such entries nor for any error, technical malfunction, loss, omission, communications delay or failure.

6. APN reserves the right to vary these Terms or to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion.

7. APN reserves the right to verify the validity of any entry. APN may disqualify any person who enters a keyword more than once or copies a coupon or otherwise tampers with the process or fails to comply with these Terms.

8. Online entrants are identified by the email address used to submit the entry. Any prize won by a online entrant will be awarded to the holder of the email address (or that person's parent/guardian) from which that entry was submitted. APN takes no responsibility for disputes resulting from entries submitted using an email address belonging to any other person.

9. Entries become the property of APN. In accordance with the Privacy Act 1993, APN collects personal information and holds personal information to conduct the promotion, notify prize winners, verify prize winners' identities. Individuals have rights to access and request correction of their personal information held by APN by calling 0800 100 888. Failure to provide all requested personal information may result in the entry being invalid.'
10. Each entrant agrees that, if he or she wins a prize, his or her details (including name, suburb/town, and photo) may be published in The New Zealand Herald (print and/or online) and used for other publicity purposes.
