Terms and Conditions - VOLVO Ocean Race promotion

1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Entry into this competition is deemed acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.

2. Entry is free and open to residents of New Zealand aged 18 years or older. Employees of the Promoters, the Promoters' associated companies, the Promoters' agencies and partners associated with this promotion and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.

3. The Promoters reserve the right to withdraw this promotion or any part of this promotion should their ability to fulfil due obligations be limited at any stage by any form of technical failure.

4. To enter the promotion, entrants must provide their full name, current and valid email address, New Zealand residential postal address, and phone number ("Eligible Entrants").

5. Entries must be received by the Promoters during the Promotional Period. The Promoters accept no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries.

6. Promotion commences at 12.01am, Friday, February 20, 2015 and will finish at 11.59pm, Friday, March 6, 2015. ("Promotional Period").

7. The prize draw will be held on Monday March 9, 2015.

8. The winners will be notified by phone, email or post.

9. There is one (1) prize consisting of a spot on board a Volvo Oceran 65 in The New Zealaldn In-Port Race on Saturday, March 14, 2015.

10. Any cost incurred to attend the event or additional costs at the event are at the winner's expense.

11. The winner must sign a waiver to indicate they agree with the terms and conditions of the race; this will be sent to the winner when they are notified of their win, and will be required to bring that with them on Saturday, March 14.

12. The winner:

* must be in good health and of a sufficient level of physical fitness to participate in the Race without causing undue risk to yourself or others and have not been advised against participating in activities of this kind by a medical doctor;
* must have assessed the weather and marine conditions with regard to your sailing experience and fitness;
* will comply with all safety notices and the instructions of any Volvo Ocean Race and/or participating team staff;
* will have taken out suitable and sufficient travel and third party insurance to cover you in the event of injury to yourself and third parties and for lost, stolen or damaged property;
* is aware of the risks associated with participating in the Race and acknowledge that sailing is by nature a hazardous activity;
* will not take part in the Race if you are feeling at all unwell or tired or under the influence of alcohol, medication or similar; and
* will take due care and attention in preventing or creating undue risk to yourself and others. Sailing of this nature can be a high risk activity. The winner's participation in this Race is entirely voluntary and at the winner's own risk. The winner acknowledge that participation in this Race carries with it the potential risk of death, serious injury and property loss. In joining this Boat, the winner acknowledge and accept that they are exposing themselves to the dangers and risks of the sport. To the maximum extent permitted by law, NZME. or VOLVO Ocean Race do not accept liability for any loss or damage caused to you or your property. If the winner is in any way uncomfortable with anything, please do not sail.

11. The Promoters' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

12. The prize is not exchangeable or transferable and cannot be taken for cash.
