Terms and conditions for the Scenic New Zealand photo competition

1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Entry into this competition is deemed acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.

2. The Promoters reserve the right to store electronically any pictures sent in by readers and to use the images free of charge in any of its online and print publications. Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs.

3. The competition is open to New Zealand residents and citizens only, and strictly excludes professional photographers. Employees of the Promoters and the Promoters' associated companies and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.

4. To enter the promotion, entrants must provide their name, current and valid email address, a photo taken within New Zealand, the photo's location and a short caption about the photo ("Eligible Entrants".

5. Photos must be the property of the Entrant and must be of reasonable quality.

6. Eligible Entrants may enter more than one photo into the promotion.

7. Promotion commences at 12.01am on 28 June 2010 and will finish at 11.59pm on 31 July 2010 ("Promotional Period").

8. Finalists will be selected by a panel of judges from the New Zealand Herald, and the winners will be determined by that same panel.

9. The winners will be notified by telephone or email. Inability to contact the winner within fourteen days of selection will result in the prize being forfeited.

10. The winners consent to their name and photo being used for public relations purposes relating to this promotion. The winning images and a selection of other images will be displayed at Auckland International Airport.

11. There are three prizes to be won: A first prize of a weekend for two, including return domestic flights on Air New Zealand, rental car with unlimited kilometers, two nights accommodation at a boutique property, a bottle of New Zealand wine or bubbly and a full. Cooked breakfast or gourmet breakfast pack for each morning of your stay; a second prize of Sony cyber-shot HX5; and a third prize of Sony Bloggie HD video camera. Promoters are not responsible for any charges associated with the use of the prizes.

12. The Promoters' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

13. The prize is not exchangeable or transferable and cannot be taken for cash.

14. The prizes will only be delivered in New Zealand and the winner should allow 10 days from prize draw for delivery. In the event that the winner is a New Zealand citizen currently located overseas, the winner must supply a New Zealand address for the prize to be delivered to.

15. Entries must be submitted via the form provided during the Promotional Period. The Promoters are not responsible for entries sent by email or post or late, lost or misdirected entries.

16. Not all photos will be published on nzherald.co.nz or in The New Zealand Herald. Only a selection of up to 30 photos per day will be displayed online. A gallery will run up to three times per week in the New Zealand Herald newspaper for the duration of the promotion. The winners will be published in the New Zealand Herald and online when the competition winners are announced.

17. The Promoters reserve the right to withdraw this promotion or any part of this promotion should their ability to fulfill due obligations be limited at any stage by any form of technical failure.
