Every year the Herald recognises six up-and-coming athletes, awarding each with a trophy, product pack and a $1,500 training grant.

Active since 1968, the awards have been f irst to acclaim rising stars such as Valerie Adams, Rob Waddell and Sarah Ulmer among others. While applauding all sports men and women, the awards are aimed at those under 20-year-olds who have already begun to make their mark at a national or international level.
TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY: Include full name, address, school (if appropriate), contact details, and a full explanation of the performance to be considered, including statistical information. Please keep submissions to under 500 words.
Applications must be made with the applicant's permission and supported by a coach, parent, school or club secretary.
