Situation:
A stationary front in the north brings an easterly flow to the upper North Island today, while a ridge of high pressure covers the South Island. A low of tropical origin moves southeast toward the North Island tomorrow while the ridge moves east. The low and the associated front move east across the country during Thursday. On Friday, the front is expected to move east across the Chatham Islands, while showers and cooler southerlies spreads across much of mainland New Zealand. On Saturday, the southerly flow continues as low moves to the east of the country towards Chatham Islands.
