Area Description:
Inshore waters from Waitarere to Pukerua Bay and out to Kapiti Island.
Situation:
Today, the easterly flow over the North Island turns southeast and weakens. A front moves onto the southwest of the South Island overnight. On Thursday, the front in the south weakens as it moves northwards over the country. A narrow ridge follows behind the front and a low and front in the Tasman Sea spread a moist northerly flow over central and northern parts of the country on Friday and Saturday. These features move rapidly over the country, and then on Sunday another front is likely to move onto the South Island from the southwest.
