Situation:

A ridge of high pressure dominates Aotearoa/New Zealand today, then begins to weaken tomorrow as a low in the Tasman Sea approaches central New Zealand. A large low from the Tasman Sea moves onto central New Zealand during Thursday and is expected to move slowly eastwards on Friday. A ridge of high pressure should then begin moving onto the country from the southwest on Saturday.
