Area Description:
Kapiti
Situation:
A ridge of high pressure prevails over Aotearoa/New Zealand over the weekend, while a low to the east of the North Island moves away today. On Monday, a ridge of high pressure lies over southern and central New Zealand, while a weak trough embedded in an easterly flow affects the north of the North Island. The ridge of high pressure starts to move away to the east of New Zealand on Tuesday. On Wednesday, a northeasterly flow covers the country, while a deep subtropical low moves southwards to the west of New Zealand. During Thursday, the low pressure system will probably remain centred west of the country, but it is expected to intensify and push frontal rain onto the New Zealand.
