Situation:

A building ridge of high pressure dominates New Zealand/Aotearoa today while a number of weak fronts move up the east coast. Tomorrow, the large high moves east of the country and a northerly flow develops. A front moving northeast crosses the South Island on Monday and the North Island on Tuesday. A low is expected to form on the front east of the South Island during Tuesday and expand to cover much of the country on Wednesday.
