The Zion Wildlife Gardens has been put into liquidation.
The High Court at Whangarei has declared that the struggling park can't pay its debts after an application to liquidate was made by Inland Revenue.
IRD lawyer Phil Smith says Zion owes more than $100,000 in taxes.
He says Official Assignee will be appointed as the liquidator and will not affect the receivers, PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
"The receivers' rights continue, that would probably be the best way of putting it, whatever rights the receivers have they still continue but now it's subject to a company's liquidation."
