KEY POINTS:
Three youths are facing charges after a Hamilton petrol station was robbed on Monday.
Three people smashed their way into the Mobile Service Station on Avalon Drive, Hamilton West, while the sole attendant locked himself in the office and phoned police.
A neighbour caught a 16-year-old from Ngaruawahia at the scene and police tracked down the other two other alleged offenders, one aged 16 and one aged 17, in the following days.
Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Page said the 16-year-old caught at the scene appeared in the Hamilton Youth Court on Monday and was remanded into Child, Youth and Family custody.
The other two are appearing in the Hamilton Youth Court today on charges relating to the robbery.
