More than 50 teenagers wreaked havoc on Auckland's North Shore last night.
Residents called police when the rowdy group started getting out of control at The Esplanade by the waterfront about 10pm.
Inspector Turepu Keenan of police northern communications said the Eagle helicopter helped track down members of the group.
Police blocked a number of streets off Castor Bay Rd as they tried to disperse the teens.
"They're not fighting, they're causing havoc, and we're trying to get them away," said Keenan.
