Youths face rape charge

Four members of a youth gang have appeared in court charged with the pack-rape of a 14-year-old girl.

Police say the attack occurred in Pt Chevalier on October 20 last year but the girl reported it to them only a couple of months ago.

Yesterday, the four accused appeared in the Auckland Youth Court jointly charged with sexual violation by rape and sexual violation by unlawful sexual connection.

Two were remanded on bail and the others were held in custody pending a bail hearing this week.
