Named player of the tournament for Wairarapa after a team vote was Letia Jane, but coaches Chris Hicks and Fleur Jane were delighted with the commitment shown by the entire team over a strenuous five-day programme.
The Wairarapa boys played at Pukekohe and qualified top of their pool after three comfortable wins, 5-2 over Southern, 4-1 over North Harbour and 5-2 over Hawke's Bay.
Then they defeated Thames Valley 4-1 in the quarter-finals, before losing by a narrow 2-1 to Waikato in the semis. Wairarapa's play-off opponents for third and fourth were Nelson and they romped home 5-2.
Phillip Arkell was their player of the tournament.
