Youth project gets $2.8m

A project to keep South Auckland teenagers from crime has been given four years' funding worth $700,000 a year.

274, named after the first three digits of Otara phone numbers, was formally launched yesterday after being set up last December.

Its eight youth workers will organise music, games and outings.
