A firearms incident in Glenorchy yesterday resulted in a young person suffering an air gun injury to the head, police say.
"The youth was flown to Dunedin Public Hospital for treatment. The youth's condition is described as serious but stable," a police statement said tonight.
The investigation into the incident was ongoing.
Police said they were called to Glenorchy, at the northern end of Lake Wakatipu, about 6pm yesterday.
